Late last year, Isaac Kim, JD, joined the Oregon Conference, as associate director for Planned Giving/Trust Services and Legal Counsel, stepping into the role that the recent retirement of longtime general counsel, Herald Follett, left vacant. Kim comes to the Oregon Conference from the Northern California Conference, where he served as a planned giving consultant. For many years, he served as a local pastor before venturing into the legal field in 2011–including the Central New Jersey Korean Adventist Church, Garden Grove Korean Adventist Church, and the Central Oregon Korean Adventist Church–giving him a unique insight into the intersection of ministry and law. He now holds a Juris Doctor from Rutgers University as well as a Master of Divinity from the Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University.
“I am grateful for the Lord leading Isaac Kim to the Oregon Conference,” says Dan Linrud, Oregon Conference president. “[He’ll] fill the crucial roles of legal counsel and Planned Giving and Trust Services necessary for the operation of a significant size organization, as this conference is.”
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Isaac Kim and his family!
