On Tuesday, October 15th, the Oregon Conference Executive Committee extended the invitation to Jon Corder to serve as Interim Vice President for Finance of the Oregon Conference, which he immediately accepted.
Corder arrives will arrive within the week to join Interim President Don Livesay and the rest of the Oregon Conference team as it approaches the end of the year and sets strategic plans and budgets for 2025. Corder's service will also allow for more time to find our next long term VP for Finance without delaying vital financial planning.
“It will be a privilege and blessing to welcome Jon Corder back to the Oregon Conference in this important interim period,” noted Interim President Don Livesay. “ He not only brings a warm personal touch to the VP role, but also a deep competency in treasury, general finance, and budgeting.”
Corder brings with him a wide range of experience in financial leadership within the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Before retiring in 2021, he served as the Lake Union's assistant treasurer and Trust Services director. Previously, he had served as association treasurer for the North Pacific Union Conference as well as treasurer in the Upper Columbia and Oregon Conferences. As a treasurer, Corder was a member of two Adventist hospital boards. His experience working in Adventist Education includes serving at Upper Columbia Academy as vice principal for finance and at Pacific Union College as controller. Corder is known for his dedication to fiscal integrity and his commitment to supporting ministry at the local church level.
He and his wife, Cheri, currently live in Michigan where they enjoy spending time with their adult children and their two beloved grandsons.
Please continue to pray for the Oregon Conference as we approach the end of this year and look forward to 2025.
