New Coordinator to Lead Prayer Ministries

New Coordinator to Lead Prayer Ministries

In January, Pastor Andre Scalfani joined the Oregon Conference office as a trust officer in our Planned Giving and Trust Services department. Now, he's adding prayer ministries coordinator to his responsibilities.

Before serving in the conference office, Pastor Scalfani served in the Oregon Conference as a pastor, and in Norway as pastor and Union prayer ministries coordinator.

Oregon prayer ministries has traditionally focused in two areas: the Gladstone Camp Meeting Prayer Garden, and the annual Conference prayer retreat. Pastor Scalfani is excited about these emphases, sharing that plans for 2023 are already coming together well. But he's also anticipating God's blessing as Prayer Ministries works to expand its focus. "I feel like God wants to do something amazing in the church and I want to be part of it," explains Scalfani. "I would love to see each church have a prayer team, with church prayer teams working together to mobilize God's church in prayer. I’ve seen God work in mighty ways through prayer and I want to see others inspired to pray, to depend on God."

If you see Pastor Scalfani on the plaza or near the Prayer Garden at camp meeting, July 19-23, don't hesitate to say, "Hi!" He'll be happy to pray for you!
