Welcoming New Pastors Come to Oregon Conference

Welcoming New Pastors Come to Oregon Conference

Over the past few months the Oregon Conference has been blessed to welcome several new (and returning) faces to our pastoral team. While some of our pastors are still working alongside their local churches before joining us, others have already begun to live, serve, and minister in communities across this territory already!

Since last fall at least seven pastors have joined the Oregon Conference, and with just a few months before Camp Meeting season we wanted to share a little bit about them.

Pastor Tom Kyser and his family will be arriving just in time for
camp meeting! Coming to us from the Kentucky Tennessee
Conference, Pastor Kyser will be serving at the Milo Academy
Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Pastor Nancy Canwell will be returning to the Oregon
Conference to serve at the Sunnyside Seventh-day Adventist
Church in Portland starting this Spring. Pastor Nancy
has spent the past few years ministering in the Upper
Columbia Conference.

Pastor Jose Luque, who joined us from the Central
California Conference, has already begun his ministry at
the Cascade, La Pine, and Christmas Valley Seventh-day
Adventist churches in central and southern Oregon.

Pastor Jose Saint Phard has picked up the mantle
at Oasis Christian Center in Vancouver, Washington, after
making the journey with his family from the Rocky Mountain
Conference this March.

Dr. Seth Pierce will be returning to the Pacific Northwest and
local church ministry once again this summer as the lead pastor
of the Sunnyside Adventist Church. Dr. Pierce has spent the
past several years as a Professor of Communication at Union
College in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Pastor Dean Lifshay joins us this spring from the Upper
Columbia Conference and will be serving at the Coos Bay,
Coquille, and Bandon Seventh-day Adventist churches.

Pastor Sean Murphy begins local church pastoral ministry here in the Oregon Conference this spring, serving at the Turning Point and Glide Seventh-day Adventist churches.

We are so grateful for all of our local church pastors serving here in the Oregon Conference! Please join us in praying for their ministries as they transition into their new roles, and if you see a chance to give them a warm welcome, please join us in that, too.
