Outreach Ministries Team Announces Transitions

In recent weeks, two members of our Oregon Conference Outreach Ministries team have announced their transitions to new career opportunities. Tim Taylor, who has served the Oregon Conference for more than four years, most recently as Outreach Ministries director, has announced that after much prayer and reflection, he has accepted a new opportunity from Child Impact International to serve as their Technology and Innovation director. At the same time, Rob Zama, associate director of Outreach Ministries and field evangelist for the Oregon Conference, has announced that he will channel his gifts and passion for evangelism into Hope Channel Canada as media evangelist. Tim and Rob co-created the innovative evangelistic series Irresistible Identity during their time working in Outreach Ministries here in the Oregon Conference.

Reflecting on his time in Outreach Ministries, Taylor remarked, "I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside colleagues and contribute to the conference's mission over the last four and a half years. I’m also happy to share that my new position allows me to mostly work remotely. As such, my family will stay in the Portland area and remain engaged in efforts to help develop innovative evangelistic resources”.

Rob, meanwhile, whose dedication and service over the past four-plus years have made a lasting impression on ministry in the Oregon Conference, has made the prayerful decision with his family to move back to eastern Canada, closer to family. "We have made the decision to take a leap of faith and go where we feel God is leading; while we love Oregon and all of the people here, we are embracing the call to continue to spread the good news of the gospel in that territory. Please continue to pray for my family during this transition, and I will also pray for you. Can’t wait for Jesus to return!" expressed Zama.

Tim’s last day with us will be July 1 and Rob will make his transition over the next few weeks. They will both be greatly missed, and our current plan is to replace both of these men with one new hire in the coming months.

“Rob Zama and Tim Taylor have been a great blessing to Oregon Conference,” shared Dan Linrud, Oregon Conference president. “Tim’s organizational leadership and Rob’s evangelistic gifts have helped churches across our field engage in sharing Jesus and his message. They have been wonderful team players and will be missed. We wish them both God’s abundant blessings as they each move forward in God’s respective calling to each.”

Please join us in lifting up Tim and Rob and their families in prayer as they wrap up their work and prepare to transition to their new roles.
