It’s hard to believe the year 2024 is upon us! As we look forward into a new year, here are a few of the exciting events, inspiring retreats, and opportunities to connect, learn, and grow in the coming months.
Together as One
January 8-9, Oregon Conference pastors, educators, and staff members will gather for a two-day event focusing on learning to work together better for our members and our wider communities.
Big Lake Registration
Big Lake Youth Camp summer camp registration will open February 4 at 8:00 AM for kids camps, and February 18 at 8:00 AM for Family Camp this year. Many of the camps fill quite quickly, so if your child, or grandchild, has their heart set on a specific week or camp focus, be ready to get them registered them that day! Go to Biglake.org to learn more about Big Lake Youth Camp and everything they have to offer.
Oregon Prayer Conference
Oregon Prayer Conference will be held March 22-24 at Twin Rocks Friends Camp in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. This year’s featured speaker will be Dr. S. Joseph Kidder. You won’t want to miss Dr. Kidder’s profound insights on the power of prayer!
Creators Lab
The first ever Creators Lab conference will launch March 23 at the Holden Convention Center in Gladstone. This exciting communication gathering will focus on the intersection of creativity and digital ministry. Open to anyone interested in exploring their faith through podcasting, short form video content like Instagram Reels and Tik Toks, writing for digital media, and long form video/audio content. Creators Lab will also create a networking hub for digital creatives, provide training to those exploring and working in the digital creative field, and expand the conversation of what it means to share our faith – both online and beyond!
Town Halls
This year’s Oregon Conference Town Hall meetings will be held in April all across the Conference. They’re a great opportunity to connect with conference leadership, learn about happenings around the conference, and share concerns or ministry ideas. Look for details coming in March on the time and place for each one.
Camp Meeting
This year, Gladstone Camp Meeting will fall over July 11-13 for Spanish language programs, and July 16-20 for English. This year’s theme will be In Christ with English camp meeting featured speaker, NAD president, Alexander Bryant!
International Camporee
In August, Pathfinders from around the globe will make their way to Gillette, Wyoming for the International Pathfinder Camporee. The quinquennial event will be held August 5-11 at the Cam-Plex Facilities in Gillette, with special events, activities, honors and much, much more! Visit www.Camporee.org to find all the details!
Bible Camps
Last year, junior high students got their own Bible Camp for the first time in a long time! It’ll be back again this year, the weekend before High School Bible Camp. Retiro de Jóvenes/Hispanic Youth Retreat will be held August 23-25, while English Bible Camps will be held September 12-15 (Jr. high) and September 19-22 (high school). All three events will be held at Washington Family Ranch in eastern Oregon.
Women’s Retreats
This year, we will be blessed by two women’s retreats! – One in Spanish and one in English. Hispanic Women’s Retreat will be held at the Holden Convention Center in Gladstone, September 6-7, while the English retreat will be held October 4-6, with speaker Jana Lee.
Hispanic Evangelism Week
November 2 will kick off Campaña de Evangelismo Zona Oeste, or the Hispanic West Coast Evangelism Week. Our Spanish-language congregations will work together to reach their communities for Jesus, culminating in a weekend of celebration and worship. You can learn more about the 2023 evangelism week at: https://orad.us/spanishevangelism2023.
We pray you will be blessed and encouraged this year as you connect, find inspiration, learn more about Jesus, and grow in Him throughout the year!
