Sunday morning, February 24, over 100 people gathered at the Holden Center in Gladstone to explore new VBS programs for 2019. Oregon Conference Children’s Ministries hosted VBS Fun Day to inspire local church leaders to cultivate VBS adventures in their local communities this summer. Each year, volunteers gather to explore the programs from various VBS publishers. This year, the highlight of the event was an all-new program from NAD Children’s Ministries, Jamii Kingdom. www.adventistvbx.com
“They have really done a remarkable job on this program,” remarked Shirley Allen, Oregon Conference Children’s Ministries Director. “It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a VBS theme from the continent of Africa. This program is great because it draws from various African cultures in a way that celebrates and affirms them.”
The program is designed to remind kids, “We are all part of God’s big family."
If your church missed out on VBS Fun day, the Children’s Ministries team is still here to help you pull off the biggest children’s evangelism outreach event of the summer in the church and the community.
